Introduction to Vegan lifestyle cuisine

Veganism is a way of living that bans the use of animals and their related products. This is a valid rule not only for the eating habits but also for clothing and everything else: a vegan for example cannot eat meat, dairy or eggs but he/she can’t also wear leather shoes or belts or carry leather handbags. The reasons behind this lifestyle are varied: animal rights, protection of the environment, healthy living or religious beliefs. Vegan are very concerned, for example, of intensive farming, which requires a “great waste” of resources.

For regular folks like me and you, veganism is just an extreme form of vegetarianism. Polls show that 1% of Americans and 0,4% of English people are vegan. The vegan diet is very useful and very famous for diminishing the risk of colonic cancer, high blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks, prostate cancer and cholesterol. These are all problems that a person encounters if he/she follows a diet full of fats and sugars. It is thou very important to underline the fact that vegan diet doesn’t provide all the necessary things for our body in terms of calcium, vitamins and iodine…: it is recommended for every vegan to support his/her daily diet with vitamins and dietary supplement.
